WHEN JOY BECOMES SADNESS: THE TIME BETWEEN REASON AND REALITY
CDr: Somnambulant Corpse Recordings SC006 [2002]

Twenty-three Twenty-Six
Twelve Fifty
Twenty-five Forty-Forty.

This project shares Clint Listing with As All Die and Long Winter's Stare.

The CD opens with pure dark drone, powerful and clean. The heavy soundscapes have added definition through clever use of samples and processed vocal sound effects. This is a quality executed and produced drone product.

Track II deviates somewhat from the drone beginnings of the album. This track is more melodic and synthesizer orientated.

Track III is more abrasive than the earlier tracks. Here the percussion gets heavier with the inclusion of Timpani samples accompanied with some nice vocal effects.

This is a varied product that ranges from Drone to Dark electronica in places. The soundscapes develop slowly and in places are reminiscent of the German outfit Troum.
