"Audio-poetix and collaborative soundscapes" are what are promised here and this is exactly what "Fragments of the Hole" delivers. Due to lack of bio info on William Willard, all that I can say is that he appears to be a socio-politically oriented spoken word artist and is closely associated with the Zdefekt crew (some of whom contribute soundscapes and treatments to this release).

Willard's text focuses on the shortcomings of modern Ameican society. He rants on consumerism, environmentalism, classism, isolationism - anything that can be pointed to as a polarising factor in our society. He organises and expresses his ideas well. He doesn't break any new ground. Nor does he shake any old trees. This is not twenty-first century Last Poets or anything like that. Williard's delivery is not imposing enough to be the rock the oppressed masses can rally around. And the message is more journalistic than diagnostic. Still, he is a voice where there can never be too many voices. A timely, fresh jolt of awareness.
