This solo project from Italy bespeaks of drear landscapes where crouch haunts sinistral, scarred battlefields strewn with the smears of human carnage where moans of the living and dead wallow. Neoclassical sonata of sullen hue saw the legs of the wounded and paroxysms of electronic noise explode like the hail of shells, though no fusillade, rather steady tormented loops of one's final agony. Anon marching rhythms blend with dark and at times uplifting folk melodies that tear the view from affliction into martial songs punctuated with brief yet poignant vocals. Beyond towering statuarys of twisted flesh and war machine with head bowed in solemn respect the short-lived respite of human vocal company breaths life among the musk of death and war.

A Well of Sadness is a very promising act from Bunkier Productions that would appeal to fans of Les Joyaux de la Princesse, Dernière Volonté and Der Blutharsch. Released in a limited edition of 160 copies in CDR.
