Toroidh is a project of Henrik Nordvargr of MZ.412 / Folkstorm fame.

"Europe is Dead" consists of 8 untitled tracks. The album opens with a neoclassical piece in a waltz style with undercurrents of crowds cheering. This leads into the second track, a neofolk composition with dark ambient elements and dark pounding drums. Track three is a beautiful dark ambient arrangement containing rumbling and horns finishing with a slow and evolving guitar piece. The fourth track is an orchestral piece with a male voice sample and a rumbling backdrop. This progresses into dark, droning ambient with a dull, throbbing beat – very beautiful indeed. Then onto another couple of neofolk tracks. Track 5 begins with some great dark bombastic drums then war samples and male vocals. This track also progresses into some damn good dark ambient with drones and rumbles. Track 6 is pretty standard neofolk with some German samples. My favourite song is track 7 – very dark, rumbling ambient with distorted male vocals and military-style drumming. It ends with a sample from a rally and some children singing. A brilliant track. The last song is very upbeat and totally different from the rest of the album; swing music with male vocal samples, guitars, snare drums and a steady beat.

Overall, I prefer the dark ambient moments to the neofolk tracks. "Europe is Dead" is a very strong album with lots of diversity and great samples.
