Hail Hail Hail
Benediction/Malediction

The latest release from Of The Wand & The Moon sees a notable absence of the puissant factor so prevalent amidst the discography, gone are the recognizable acoustic guitar draperies, but far be it this release a truncated folk casement. It sees Kim Larsen taking Of The Wand & The Moon in familiar territory that Douglas P. would stride from "Rose Clouds of Holocuast" – the similarities are there thematically and musically but "Hail Hail Hail" strives to divest and disgorge its own runic path of experimentation.

Side A, spiders oriental filaments of melody and buoyant percussion in low-fi scenery to the dripping, whispering vocals of Kim Larsen who sheaths abbreviated rhyme amidst the capriole. Larsen’s voice swims a hypnotic rondure, a polyglot of lyricism over the cinematic soundtrack.

Side B, sees a cover of Current 93 with guests from Forseti and Sonne Hagal, the mélange integrating a pagan pageantry worthy of the original. Guttering lights and cachinnating fauna set upon the corposant with delectable menace, Larsen, et al, vocals eddy behind the dirge, siphoning in and out of the purling nocturnal background.
