Henrik Nordvargr Bjorkk, Jonas Drakhon Aneheim and Jouni Ulvtharm Ollila. Three legends of the dark ambient scene. Carve their names with pride for they deserve no less. "Malfeitor", "Macht Durch Stimme", "In Nomine Dei Nostri Satanas Luciferi Excelsi", "Burning the Temple of God", "Nordik Battle Signs", "Domine Rex Inernum" and "Live Ceremony" [read review here] their legacy. "Infernal Affairs" is their latest illustrious release to finally see the light of day. Their swan-song according to CMI in the press release. Surely not. The outcries will be loud and swift if this is proven to be true. Never say never and - don‚t believe all the stuff you read. More so when it's printed in a press release sheet. MZ.412 will return. They owe it not only to their fanatical fan base but to themselves also. They have far too much to offer to the music fraternity to jack it all in. Check out the previously named releases for proof of this argument.

MZ.412 have never fallen foul of the "Bowie Effect". So termed after Mr Bowie saw the highlight peaks of a career fall into the fast slide by continually releasing utter shit to the disbelieving ears of the press and fans alike. MZ.412 continue to peak with every release. They have yet to start the precarious descent into mediocrity. They continually re-invent the MZ.412 sound from the ground up. These touches of genius are what sets MZ.412 apart from the rest of the herd. Trend setters, not followers. They release music that continues to surprise. Dark and oppressive music that is beautifully realised. Noise and ambience mixed together in a huge blender marked "Black Industrial" is their forte. No-one else can touch or come near them in this musical style stakes.

The 11 tracks on "Infernal Affairs" a testimony to this fact. Utilising samples, abrasive vocals, harsh rhythmic passages, power electronics and grand sweeping orchestral pieces - all held together by the trademark dark ambience for which they are so well renowned. When MZ.412 lets rip everyone stops to listen. "Infernal Affairs" is a testosterone fuelled journey into the blackest depths. A nightmare creation crafted from the finest elements to heighten the aural experience. Even the quieter passages holding a feeling of awesome stress and dread. Incredible. Absolutely incredible.

"Infernal Affairs' is 'classic' MZ.412. It's a natural musical progression from their previous work, but without losing any of the distinctive trademarks that have made them so popular amongst the "Black Industrial" purists out there. The black embossed 6 panel digi-pak a suitable cover for the music contained therein. "Infernal Affairs" is a release you cannot be without. You need this in your collection. Forget the rest and buy only the best. MZ.412 will never be bettered musically. And that is the truth. The whole truth. Nothing but the truth.
