Someone
somewhere has to take responsibility. Someone has to own up and admit
that maybe, just maybe, the idea of putting a CD release out in a petri
dish filled with gunky wax was pretty fucking dumb. Worse than dumb in
fact as the review copy that I received was still coated with the shit.
How the fuck it managed to play is down to technology with lasers and
a lot of luck. There was supposed to be enclosed artwork within it but
I think the gunky shit must have swallowed it up. 10 out 0f 10 for originality.
2 out of 10 for the actual execution. Mind you it could be much worse.
If you live in the land of the free your copy comes submerged in agar
where all the art work is grown on using a mix of bacteria, phage and
antibiotics. Enough about the presentation. AP is more concerned about
the music and…concerned I most definitely am. Concerned about my
sanity after falling emphatically for these 8 tracks. Concerned about
the sanity of the participating artists who gave life to this monster.
The guilty have names. They are D.N of the Eugenics Council, Andrew Seal
of Praying for Oblivion /Tote Stadt and Scott Nydegger and Paul Beauchamp
from Sikhara. Coalition
for a better Tomorrow will have you bopping along to their tune and I
happily got carried away with them. Euphoric music for those who seek
something different that goes against the grain. |
