Another remastered double lp offering of Allerseelen’s catalogue on sub-label Ahnstern, released as a gorgeous gatefold offering in a limited edition of 600, with one side of previously unavailable material from the same era of the original Flamme album.

This Allerseelen release blazes rubicund, colour and temperament, intermingling capacious stylish meanderings of climacteric folk music expressed in recitation of verse, traditional instrumentation, anxious industrial-tempered electronics, and suave loquaciousness. Though not joyful the album tends to the uplifting rather than to the shadows cast by the flame it holds dear as Gerhard proclaims, “Flamme is dedicated to the divine and human muses in my life who have been very benevolent and helpful for my music and art and poetry during the last years.” Bereft of the usual intensity of esoterica in Allerseelen’s albums, Flamme nurses an especial strength unto itself.

There is an underlying sensuous disposition tracking most of the songs, interlacing clustered orientalism with felag-menco (flamenco) divagations to evoke a graceful mystery and magic. Despite the mosaic of individual stylistic disparity of each track’s instrumentation there remains fundamental gradation throughout the entire album, its congeries more fitting as whole than in parts.
